At Sicame Group, we are celebrating our 70th anniversary this year.
It’s the perfect time to look not only at how we were founded, but also why our solutions have been working for decades.

Let’s travel back for a moment to 1955, to Pompadour…
There, a dream kept two engineers awake at night. They had a simple, yet bold vision: to create safe and reliable solutions for the energy sector.

The first creations of the visionaries – Basile Lechud, Marcel Prodel, and their team of engineers – were the CM-58 clamps and P-63 connectors for overhead power lines: simple in form, but revolutionary in function. With this solution, they responded to the needs of the French energy sector and the EDF Group at the time. Why?

Because even then, they focused on what is SICAME’s strength: durability, safety, and an innovative approach to insulating cable connections. Thanks to this, SICAME gained access to a wider market – proving that a seemingly “small workshop” could conquer the world. 🤗

Proof? In Miejska Górka, on one of the first power lines in Poland using Sicame clamps, elements installed in 1974 are still in operation today!

It is this spirit of engineering vision that has ensured our clamps and connectors have been functioning in various parts of the world for decades – regardless of climate, voltage, or line technology. ⚡
