During this year’s Energetab 2014 trade fair, the new range of SICAME terminals, which enable connection/cutting off of a connection under voltage and current load up to 90A, attracted great interest.

One of the basic principles of working under voltage is to ensure that the terminals being connected are not subjected to any current draw (I=0A). This is ensured by installing fuse boxes outside buildings, which allow for the deactivation of protective devices before installation begins.

However, there is often a need to make a connection or disconnect it when we do not have access to the fuse box.

Using standard insulation-piercing clamps in this case can cause an arc to ignite during the insulation penetration. SICAME’s new range of clamps addresses this problem. These clamps allow for connection/disconnection of the customer while the load is still on. These clamps can also be used when dealing with a customer who defaults on their obligations to the electricity trading company.

SICAME terminals allow for multiple connection options:

  • Operation with the line switched off and grounded,
  • Working under voltage,
  • Operation under PPN voltage and load up to 90A.
