Our research base – a tool for innovation
Sicame Group attaches a key role to research and development of products offered to customers worldwide. Creating a modern and professional research base has been a priority for the group since its inception. Through a policy of cooperation and knowledge sharing in the field of research and investments, the companies that make up Sicame Group are better than other companies in terms of efficiency and product development time. The importance of research and development for Sicame Group is evidenced by the fact that 2% of the group’s revenue is allocated to this purpose every year.
LABEL – accredited laboratory
The group’s many years of activity resulted in the establishment of a modern LABEP research laboratory in Pompadour (France). This laboratory is accredited by COFRAC (the French equivalent of PCA – Polish Accreditation Centre) to perform tests for compliance with standards such as:
– EN 50483:2009 Testing of equipment for LV insulated lines
– EN 50397-2:2009 Testing of equipment for PAS type lines
– HD 629.1 S3:2019 Testing of accessories for MV cables in polyethylene insulation
– EN 50483:2009 Testing of equipment for LV insulated lines
– EN 50397-2:2009 Testing of equipment for PAS type lines
– HD 629.1 S3:2019 Testing of accessories for MV cables in polyethylene insulation
Research facilities at the heart of our R&D strategy
Currently, the group has research laboratories around the world capable of performing tests and research of equipment for electricity transmission and distribution networks and control and safety devices. Research and testing is carried out by highly qualified personnel using regularly certified equipment.
Scope of tests carried out in Sicame Group laboratories:
- Electrical tests (aging, short circuit, voltage and current surges, low and high voltage long-term tests, single or three-phase testing)
- Dielectric tests
- Mechanical tests (test stations: compression, vibration, bending, strength)
- Corrosion and climatic tests (salt mist, thermal tests, corrosion tests in SO₂ atmosphere, climatic chamber)
- Others (including: resistance measurement in megaohms, spectrometer, cooling chamber (up to -40°C))
